Senior Accountant

invivodata seeks a Sr. Accountant to work in our Pittsburgh, PA office.  This individual will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger in a software development and customization environment using Intacct and other Accounting System tools.  Use analytic and Excel/Access skills to evaluate and monitor revenue, expenses, and balance sheet items. Develop and provide relevant, reliable and timely management reporting for the Finance and Operations organizations with respect to Revenue and Expenses as well as traditional accounting responsibilities. 
 
Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for managing the monthly close process and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in monthly revenue recognition process. 
  • Work closely with the Project Accounting to insure project activity and status is accurately reflected in accounting transactions and entries.
  • Responsible for daily and monthly general accounting duties related to recording domestic and international payroll, debt financing entries, cash reconciliations, including but not limited to, journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical activities as requested.
  • Assist Sales team in the calculation of the accrual and payment of commissions.
  • Establishes, implements, and monitors financial controls, to include approvals and authorizations and a review of all financial processes and financial systems.
  • Assist in development of forecasted project revenues, expenses, receivables and liabilities (including Unbilled and Deferred Revenue).
  • Assist in creating internal policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent accounting experience, preferably in the software development, professional services or construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical, technical accounting and auditing skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.
  • Expertise with accounting software (Intacct).
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data bases.
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of percentage completion contract accounting.
