invivodata Named as Finalist in Pittsburgh Technology Council Tech 50 Awards

PITTSBURGH — August 9, 2006 — invivodata™ inc., inc., the industry leader in electronic patient reported outcomes (ePRO) solutions for global clinical research, today announced that the Pittsburgh Technology Council has named the company a finalist in the Life Sciences category of its Tech 50 Awards. These awards are presented annually to the region’s highest-achieving, most innovative technology firms.

“Our judges were impressed with invivodata’s technological advances in the collection of patient-reported outcomes data and its contribution to growing and sustaining the Pittsburgh technology industry,” said Steven G. Zylstra, president and CEO, Pittsburgh Technology Council. “Life sciences are a vital part of our regional economy, and strong growth from companies like invivodata helps to ensure that the industry at large continues to view Pittsburgh as a technology leader.”

Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies face a long series of regulatory hurdles as they strive to obtain Food and Drug Administration approval for their life-saving and life-enhancing products. Clinical trials, especially those including Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) data, comprise a key component of that process, one that can be costly, time-consuming and unreliable, especially when trial sponsors rely on data collected with traditional, manual paper diaries.

invivodata combines behavioral science with handheld and Web technology to capture the highest-quality PRO data for clinical research. invivodata’s electronic diary (eDiary) solutions have helped more than 50 pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry clients to capture more reliable and accurate clinical trial data directly from patients, helping those clients to better understand the safety and effectiveness of new medical treatments they are developing.

“invivodata has a strong history of leading the eDiary industry, and we’re proud that the Pittsburgh Technology Council has recognized our achievements by naming us a Tech 50 Awards finalist,” said Doug Enfer, president and CEO of invivodata. “We’ve demonstrated solid growth over the past several years, having consistently posted double-digit growth in revenues and an 18 percent increase in employee hires since 2004. This success positions us well to sustain momentum and continue helping our clients conduct more effective research.”

Each year the Tech 50 event honors those technology companies that demonstrated the strongest growth and advancement in product or sales success, financial strength, corporate citizenship, job growth and retention, and innovative product or technology. All applicants are subjected to a final audit and scoring by the Pittsburgh office of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Winners will be announced Oct. 19 at the Tech 50 Awards ceremony at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh.
